Brian, Creative planning on your part resulted in great benefits for the WISE class Retreat. The success of the activities was evident in the evaluations and lively discussions. You and Emily were very observant and amazingly patient. I am looking forward to next time. Sincerely, Suzi

Another Great School Year Ends with Fantastic Results!

Adventure TeamWorks just finished our Student LEAD program with a 4th, 5th, and 6th grade class at one of our local elementary schools here in Charleston, SC. We worked with the 4th and 5th grade for 30 weeks and the 6th grade for 15 weeks, meeting once a week for up to 45 minutes. I have facilitated many programs in the last 13+ years and the 4th grade class I worked with was the quickest to embrace the curriculum and immediately start to transfer their newly acquired knowledge to their class and to their fellow schoolmates; mainly with the dedication and “buy-in” from their fantastic teacher. Here are some of their comments:

“We learned to share ideas and be confident.”

“I learned some things like how to settle things with words not fists. Another thing I learned was being responsible for myself.”

“I am confident that my brainstorming has gotten better than ever before.”

“The problem solving method you did id really helpful and so great that nobody’s fought for four weeks!”.

We have all read quotes similar to these and it’s unfortunate that the written word doesn’t completely convey the life lessons learned as well as the new self and mutual respect the students lived and demonstrated every week. The program was such a great success that next year the principal has asked Adventure TeamWorks to implement our curriculum school wide as part of an effort to create a more positive culture throughout the school. What a great opportunity and challenge for us and the school and we can’t wait to create this new community together.
